Fall 2023 - 12 weeks October-January

Due to an increased number of students, and family/personal commitments, I need to restructure my teaching schedule this Fall. 

I am now offering both in person and online small group classes.

All group classes will involve students receiving pre-recorded short video lessons (10-15 min) in advance of weekly lessons. I expect students to study the lesson material ahead of our class. This advance preparation will facilitate efficiency and allow us to focus on skill development during our time together in class. Lessons will also involve homework assignments, usually short video recordings of yourself playing. This will allow me to provide effective, individualized feedback. Fall Classes for grades 5, 4, and 3+ will involve working on skill development and solo preparation. Based on an individual's skill development, I will provide a solo score that is appropriate for them and their solo grade level. Composition and Choreography costs are reflected in the price of the classes. 

I will have only a small number of time slots available for individual lessons, so please contact me if this option will be a better fit for you.

Intro to Pipe Band Tenor Drumming (12 weeks)

Mondays 4:30-5:20pm (Zoom) beginning October 2

Tuesdays 6:00-6:50pm (in person, in Mississauga) 

     *the Tuesday group is offered FREE of CHARGE* (subsidized in full by 

      St Andrew's Pipes and Drums, and loaner equipment provided)

     * the expectation is that successful participants will become a member of the St. Andrews band

Wednesdays 6:00-6:50pm (in person, in Guelph) 

     *the Wednesday group is subsidized by the Guelph Pipe Band, 

      with student pricing to be determined 

     * the expectation is that successful participants will become a member of the Guelph band

Equipment required: Tenor Practice Mallets OR Fluffy Tenor Mallets (or both) and a practice pad or hard surface to play on.

Cost per student $120.00 for the term.

Grade 5 Tenor Skill Building and Solo Preparation (12 weeks)

Will run when enough enrollment  *please express interest by filling out the registration form

Equipment required: tenor practice mallets AND fluffy tenor mallets and a practice pad, hard surface or drum (with harness/sling/stand) for playing on.

$150 per student for 12 weeks of class (Solo score composition is included)

Grade 4 Tenor Skill Building and Solo Preparation (12 weeks)

Will run when enough enrollment  *please express interest by filling out the registration form

Equipment required: tenor practice mallets AND fluffy tenor mallets and a practice pad, hard surface or drum (with harness/sling/stand) for playing on.

$180 per student for 12 weeks of class (Solo score composition is included)

Grade 3+ Tenor Skill Building and Solo Preparation (12 weeks)

$250 per student for 12 weeks of class (Solo score composition support is included)

Homeschool Tenor Group (Grade 5/4 Skill Building and Solo Preparation) (12 weeks)

Will run if there is interest  *please express interest by filling out the registration form

$150 per Student for 12 weeks of class (Solo score composition is included)

Individual Lessons (limited time slots available)

$50 for 50 minute lessons (Solo score composition is included)
